Barry S. McCoy, graduated from Belfry High School in 1981. Barry was a member of the 1979-80 Belfry Pirates first football team to play in the state championships.
In 1984, Barry became the youngest special Deputy in Pike County at the age of 21. Along with operating Karate Schools in Kentucky and West Virginia for the next several years Barry decided to make a career in Law Enforcement.
In 1988, Barry graduated from the Department of Criminal Justice Training in Richmond, Kentucky. After graduating from the Police Academy Barry was hired as a K-9 Officer for Pike County Sheriffs Office.
In 1990, Barry was named the first PKC (Professional Karate Commssion) Kentucky State Director. Promoting the first ever P.K.C. State Karate Championships at Belfry High School.
In 1995, Barry moved to Central Kentucky where he was sworn in as Chief of Police in the City of Hustonville.
In 2004, Barry began working for the Stanford Police Department and currently serves as police firearms/defensive tactics instructor.
